The first time you sign-in to CI Direct Investing, you'll be asked to set up two-step verification for your account. While this is optional, it's recommended and will provide better security to your account. Click here to learn more about two-step verification.

You can always disable and re-enable your two-step verification at a later time from your CI Direct Investing account's security setting.

How to enable two-step verification via Authenticator:

1) Sign-in and go to your account security settings from your profile.

1) Install and set up the authenticator app of your choice.

2) Enter your phone number in the window prompt (This is to help us recover your account in case you lost access your device).

3) Scan the QR code with the authenticator app.

4) Enter the six-digit code the authenticator app has provided to the required field.

How to enable two-step verification via SMS:

1) Sign-in and go to your account security settings from your profile.

2) Click "Set it up" under SMS/Text Message, and enter your mobile number.

3) In a moment you will receive an SMS from CI Direct Investing containing a six-digit code.

4) Enter the six-digit code to the required field.

Once you have entered the six-digit code, you will be prompted to "remember this device." Only select this if the device you are using is private and secured by a password. Otherwise, select 'don't remember this device.'

By choosing to 'remember this device,' you will not be prompted to enter a code every time you sign-in from this device. If you prefer to have better security or the device you are using is not private, then you should not select this option.

Next time when you sign-in:

If you have chosen not to remember your device or you have signed in from a different device, you'll be prompted to enter your two-step code which will be sent via authenticator app or the SMS automatically.

You are not receiving the six-digit code?

If you have added phone numbers to a blocked list or are using a filter application, you may want to add the remitting number (604) 265-6699 as trusted number to avoid delays or missing codes.

If you experience any issues using two-step verification, recently change your phone number and can't access your account, please contact us directly so we may assist you.
